Dear Ms. Clark:
Today I read with interest your "Retraining a Former
Racehorse" piece that was linked from
The Bloodhorse online.
I applaud you for your straightforward, sensible and knowledgeable approach. Your
recommendations on the subject reflect almost exactly what I have been preaching
to well-meaning amateurs for years. May the message be heard!
Congratulations also on the CHRB preliminary vote.
I've trained dressage horses on and off for 35 years, been a Thoroughbred trainer
for 20, and can attest that everything you say about retraining is right on, and
the need for the correct execution of it is massive. Our magnificent Thoroughbreds
deserve more widespread understanding and sensitivity, something that you and your
organization obviously are helping to bring about.
In the future I will be recommending your website to anyone I can find interested.
In a small way perhaps it will help further the cause. Keep up the good work!
